It started at Fox Performance Fitness. We are a small fitness studio in New Jersey, USA, providing tailored, in-person and online fitness training. We coach athletes and beginners in various sports and stages of development.

One of our local clients is a professional agility dog trainer who came to us in need of help for one of her clients, who realized that she was the reason her dog could not compete and succeed. The dog was fast and agile. The client was a skilled handler, but she was just a bit slow and continued to "lose north." Every fraction of a second counts, so even a moment of brief disorientation is costly. She had mastered her technique and all of her cues. She just could not get ahead of her dog
in time to cue the next obstacle in the run.
We realized this was a widespread concern for the dog handler population. Since then, we have been working together to develop an affordable, time-flexible program to help her human teammates to be better handlers. Handler Performance Lab was launched and is looking for beta testers. These founding members will begin training as MVP clients who will earn lifetime benefits in exchange for valuable feedback to help develop the program and better serve this distinct community.

This is a special niche of athletes, and Fox Performance Fitness developed a 4-week program where every level handler can sharpen their proprioception (mind-body awareness & response) and shorten their run times, through one easy-to-follow, customizabe program in our app. For
a minimum of 15 min per day, 3x per week, the program
can accommodate beginners or be progressed to challenge intermediate and advanced athletes The program has a
balance of strength, agility and proprioception training, all tied to the mind-body connection. It is self-guided, and as you go, there are options to swap out or skip exercises, add extra sets and reps or change times, all to tailor the plan to individual needs. There you'll find a community of other handlers and nutritional support to help you adequately fuel up for training, trials or competition. What you eat and when you eat it can greatly impact your perfprmance. There is also a collection of resources for how to meet the demands of being a handler. One can opt-in to continue the program through 12 weeks of progression, and then continue month to month or repeat. If you have injuries or special needs, contact us for a more personalized one-to-one coaching program.
Your safety is our top priority.
